Flu (Influenza) Testing:
Types A & B

When should I get a flu test?

It’s hard to know when you are sick if you have Covid, a cold, or another virus like the flu. The sooner you know what type of illness you have, the faster you can get treated and on your way to recovery.

You may want to consider a Flu test if you are experiencing common symptoms of the seasonal flu including fever, dry cough, body aches, and can include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, red eyes or a runny nose.

How is a flu test administered?

Our rapid influenza diagnostic test (RIDT) is administered via nasal swab, similar to the COVID-19 swab test. Results will be shared to your Sameday Health portal within 30 minutes.

What happens if I test positive for Influenza A or B?

If you test positive for flu, please consult with a medical provider.  You can schedule an appointment with a Sameday Health provider through our Virtual Care platform.
